- Created in Lafayette, LA USA Printed on Archival PaperMATTEA is a collection of artwork created by Cayla Mattea Zeek with a fusion of wordplay bantering in the artist's mind and her heart embracing flora, fauna, and culture in South Louisiana. Cayla started Mattea by illustrating greeting cards while she was working at a mom and pop shop as a sales associate and going to college for painting. After graduating, she went on to become a middle school art teacher, but found her passion for creating her own art took over and she left to pursue being an artist full-time. Currently, she works to create new illustrations for her brand, has painted her first public mural in Downtown Lafayette, directs music videos for local musicians, creates paintings reflecting her dreams and juggles all this while being a full-time mama to her daughter, Josephine.
