Historical maps were the beginning of what would become the Historic New Orleans Collection, founded by Kemper and Leila Williams. Kemper had a lifelong interest in collecting, which supposedly began with ten maps Leila gifted him as a suggestion for a new hobby. Kemper’s collection continued to grow as they lived here in the Historic French Quarter.
