A fine art print depicting customers perusing a display outside a French Quarter bookshop, with two children and a street vendor nearby.
Alberta Kinsey (1875–1952) was born in Ohio and studied painting in Cincinnati, Chicago, New Orleans, France, and Italy. She opened a studio at 628 Toulouse Street in the French Quarter — an unconventional choice for an unmarried woman at the time — and became deeply drawn to the architecture and street life of the neighborhood. This oil painting is dated 1925–1935 and is held in the collection.
