About Rocky Mountain Rustic Decor:
More than a hundred years ago, homesteaders along the Rocky Mountains staked out new land by planting juniper (cedar) fence posts around their property. The wood was naturally insect- and weather-resistant, and many survive to this day. In 1998, woodworker Wayne Murray got the idea to create a duck out of this remarkable wood that holds so much history. Along with his friend Tim, who had spent years as a designer and sculptor, they began to build a business that was committed to craftmanship. Together, they named the company “Rocky Mountain Rustic”.
Rocky Mountain Rustic creates ducks in three general sizes, small, medium, and large. Due to the nature of crafting with recycled wooden fenceposts, the look of each duck may vary slightly.
