Bird in Hand is a one-of-a-kind pottery piece by New Orleans artist John Hodge.

Hodge works with clay and slip mixed in his studio, incorporating holy water from his favorite churches in Rome. A cross beside his signature identifies pieces made with this addition, connecting his decorative work to his practice of creating milagros and ex-votivos.
